We traveled to New York with Kathy and Linda to watch Colin play with the Napa Valley Youth Symphony in Carnegie Hall. Colin traveled separately with the orchestra, and they had their own itinerary. We stayed in a hotel close to Times Square.
On Friday we had Cronuts at Dominique Ansel Bakery (who invented it!). We then went to the Guggenheim Museum which had some great exhibits. That evening was the big event. We had an amazing dinner at the MO Lounge in the Mandarin Oriental hotel at the south-east corner of Central Park, and then went to see the concert in Carnegie Hall. They put up an amazing show and Colin did great. It was a big surprise for Colin that his drum teacher was also there (his god-child also played so they decided to fly to NY for the show).
On Saturday Maureen and I saw Wicked on Broadway. It was a great show.
