Cape of Storms - Big Wednesday
Some weather news from the Cape of Storms. The worst storm in 50 years. Trees were uprooted, roofs lifted... average galeforce winds of 100km/hr and gusts of up to 150km/hr in Cape Town Harbour. The average height of a wave in the normal stormy season in the Cape is 3m, but on the 5th - Big Wednesday as it is now called - the average wave was 10m and the maximum height ever recorded for a wave since they started recording in the 70's, was a wave of 17m high!
