It was a beautiful day, and we had an hour or so to go out for a bike ride. We headed up Dry Creek road and were really enjoying ourselves. Then Maureen’s chain dropped on a hill and she came to a stop with her feet still clipped into the pedals… and she fell on her elbow. Ouch!!!
I had to ride back a few miles to get reception and to call one of our friends to come and pick us up and take us to the ER. It took a few hours to get through the paperwork, x-rays, and then they put her under for just a few minutes (amazing drugs!) and popped the joints back into their correct spots.
Unfortunately she will have to wear a sling for a few weeks and won’t be able to ride the Bottega Gran Fondo this week-end, but at least it wasn’t a broken elbow! Also good that I was home this week… (although, if I wasn’t, she would not have been on Dry Creek Road today…)
Glad she’s ok. Looks like a painful experience though.
Watch out for TNT, is the lesson, I suppose. Sounds like Maureen’s on the mend. Maybe a little wine will help.
Wow. That looks so painful. Glad you are better, Maureen!
